Allow me to take my marine mammal military fantasy line-up even further: The beluga whales could easily handle communication and intelligence - along with porpoises, who have been tested and proven naval experts, particularly in the planting munitions.
The narwal and orca are my top pick for the Marine attachments - one has built-in sabres and the other has natural stealth, camouflage and plenty of disdain for evil humans.
